The accident occurred in the Sarıkamış district of Kars . A light commercial vehicle, 21 FT 502, under the control of MA, overturned in a ditch while maneuvering to avoid hitting a herd of pigs that suddenly appeared on the road near Hamamlı village on the Kars-Erzurum highway.

The driver, MA, and passengers E.Ö., RE, and A.Ö. were injured in the accident. Bystanders reported the accident to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health, gendarmerie, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. After receiving first aid, the injured were taken to Sarıkamış State Hospital by paramedics.
