Electric Bikes and Mountain Roads

The complaints we have received show moments when this new vehicle contradicts the nature of the road and the bicycle.
The fact that those who ascend ramps with electric support “beg for the way” from those who pedal with their physical power, demand passage on single-track paths, and use shuttles to reach their destinations first, creates a justified bitterness among cyclists who place the essence of physical effort at their center.
At this point, e-bikes can be described as "neither quite a bird nor quite a camel," so to speak. They exist like ostriches, in a space that has yet to be fully defined.
However, it's important to understand that e-bike users are also cyclists. Some choose this vehicle for health reasons, some for age-related limitations, and some simply for comfort. The road is a shared space not only for the physical body but also for those who choose to pedal for various reasons. Our expectations of our e-bike users are to prioritize those who pedal with physical power, especially on inclines and single-track paths, and to be more considerate of rest stops and accommodations.
This will eliminate all complaints and give way to the peace of sharing.
The essence and spirit of our festival lies neither in the power of electricity nor in the arrival time. This essence lies in the journey we travel together; in the respect shown for labor, in facing challenges together, in progressing in harmony with the balance of nature, and in a true MTB experience.
Hope to see you…
