Tragedy in Kocaeli: Man shoots daughter, commits suicide
The incident occurred around 10:00 PM in a two-story house on 323rd Street in the Atatürk neighborhood of the Çayırova district. Muzaffer Yıldız had an argument with his family for reasons yet unknown. During the argument, Muzaffer Yıldız drew a gun and fired it, accidentally shooting his daughter, Meltem Yıldız, in the stomach. Seeing his daughter collapse to the ground covered in blood, his father, Muzaffer Yıldız, then put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.
Police and paramedics were dispatched to the address after residents alerted the family. The father, Muzaffer Yıldız, was seriously injured and taken to a private hospital in Gebze, while his daughter, Meltem Yıldız, was taken to Gebze Fatih State Hospital. Despite all efforts, Muzaffer Yıldız could not be saved. Meltem Yıldız, who was injured in her abdomen, underwent surgery.
The police launched an investigation into the incident.
