Paul McCartney to play Hamilton and Montreal this fall — the only Canadian stops in North American tour

Paul McCartney has a ticket to ride to Hamilton, where he's taking his Got Back tour in November.

The Beatles rocker announced a new North American leg of his tour on Thursday.

He'll play Hamilton's TD Coliseum on Nov. 21. McCartney's is the first show coming to the newly named and renovated venue. Tickets go on sale next week.

"Opening night deserves something extraordinary, and it doesn't get any better than Paul McCartney," Nick DeLuco, general manager at TD Coliseum, said in a news release.

The venue says it's working with provincial transit agency Metrolinx to ensure train service will be available between Hamilton's West Harbour station and Toronto's Union Station after the show.

The only other Canadian shows on McCartney's tour schedule are two in Montreal, at the Bell Centre on Nov. 17 and 18.

The Got Back tour first began in 2022.

The downtown Hamilton venue, formerly called the FirstOntario Centre, is scheduled to open later this year after extensive renovations by U.S.-based business Oak View Group, which specializes in sports and entertainment venues.

TD Coliseum is promoting two other concerts on its website: Andrea Bocelli on Dec. 9 and Brad Paisley on Dec. 12.

In March, it will host the Junos. The Oak View Group also announced celebrity chef Matty Matheson is set to open a restaurant at the arena later this year.

The Toronto Rock National Lacrosse League team also said it will return to playing at the arena when it re-opens.
