All About Noah Wyle’s Wife, Sara Wells

For years, Noah Wyle played a dreamy young doctor on ER and his new HBO hit The Pitt has only reminded fans how easy it is to fall in love with his competent medical characters. Naturally, they’re curious about his wife, Sara Wells, who the actor has been with now for over a decade. While speaking with Extra in late August, following his nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Drama for Dr. Robby, Wyle dwelled on his plans for going to the event with his wife.
“To be nominated again after 26 years feels great,” he said, before joking about Wells, “Yes, she’ll be my date. I don’t know, it’s still a long way to September, we’ll see how things go.”
He continued more seriously, “My wife and I, we’re very excited. She’s gonna look great.”
Wells posted a picture of them in their finery on September 8, heading to the Creative Arts Emmys. And they looked stylish and happy:

Who is Sara Wells?Wells is also an actor, with IMDB credits for roles in Californication, Nip/Tuck, and Leverage: Redemption, a show also starring Wyle. In her Instagram bio, she describes herself as a singer and “pancake flipper,” as well. She uses that platform to share a glimpse into her life at home with Wyle and their kids, as well as their two dogs, Piper and Reuben. The family appears to be very pro-animal adoption.
In 2023, Wells was a big supporter of the SAG-AFTRA union during their industry strike, and shared photos of being on the picket line with Wyle.
The couple was married in June 2014. Wells marked their 11 year anniversary with a post on Instagram, writing in the caption, “11 years and there’s still no one who makes me laugh quite like you♥️Happy Anniversary @therealnoahwyle.”
A year earlier, Wyle marked the moment on Instagram, too, writing, “My love, thanks for the best 10 years of my life. And for being so slow that when you run that I can always catch you.”
The photo he shared showed Wells’s strapless white dress and long veil.
In January 2025, Wyle celebrated his wife’s birthday by sharing his longstanding tradition of taking pictures when she isn’t looking.
“For years, when we eat out, I’ve told this woman I need to use the bathroom. Then, I excuse myself and just stand across the room and look at her for awhile, feeling so very happy and blessed to be with her,” he wrote on Instagram.
In June 2020, she wrote him a birthday tribute with similar sentiments, writing, “Funny, charming, wicked smart and crazy hot. There is no one I would rather stand beside on this wild journey. Thank you for being the strength and love that our family thrives under.”
Wyle was previously married to Tracy Warbin, and they share two children, Owen and Auden, born in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He and Wells welcomed their daughter, Frances, in 2015. Wells seems to have stepped up as a step-mom to both older children and Wyle often talks about his relationship with them and Frances.
In March 2025, Wyle told People that his kids have not watched much of his first famous show, ER.
“They’ve watched more Grey’s Anatomy than they have ER,” he admitted. “It’s a point of contention. However, the older they get and the more they seem interested in this business, the more I kind of want to hold that up as something that they might want to engage in.”
He also talked about how becoming a dad changed his approach to his career.
“My tastes changed radically after my son was born,” he explained. “After I was a father, I suddenly was very conscious of the things that my kids would be watching their father do or say.”
He added, “You know, I’d rather play good guys.”
His kids do seem to have an interest in performing, and Auden played Wyle’s daughter in Leverage: Redemption.
In October 2021, she shared an Instagram pic from the set, writing, “I had the best time doing this episode with great people, and an especially great scene partner @therealnoahwyle 🤍.”
