Now, Zendaya might have only attended the Met Gala six times in total, but she’s without a doubt one of the most-anticipated invitees at the event, and after much, much waiting, she finally made her grand Met Gala return as one of the co-chairs for the Met Gala 2024 and gave us looks for days.

We are still thinking about last year's event, but the Met Gala 2025 is fast approaching, and the theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," and dress code, “Tailored for You," couldn't be more perfect for Zendaya. While we don't know if Zendaya is gracing the Met stairs this year — she is after all in the middle of filming Euphoria season 3 — her longtime stylist, Law Roach, will be headed to the event with Burberry.
According to Roach, Zendaya is attending the Met Gala 2025, but the star has not publicly confirmed it, and it wouldn't be the first time that she misses out on the Met Gala for work obligations. In 2021, when she announced that she wouldn't be attending the event’s long-awaited return after a one-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many lamented the news. (She was busy filming the second season of Euphoria!)
A year later, all our hopes were crushed when Zendaya announced she would once again skip the event and be absent from the Met Gala 2022 due to work commitments. “Your girl's gotta work and make some movies,” she revealed just weeks ahead of the event. When 2023 rolled around, Zendaya provided no explanation for why she'd once again RSVP'd “no” to the Met Gala 2023, but we assumed she was busy with Dune 2.
With a clearer schedule following not one but two killer press tours, Z returned to the Met Gala in 2024. She told us she would “be back eventually,” and she stuck to her word.

Honoring “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between,” the Met Gala 2017 saw one of Zendaya's most glamourous looks to date. Her gown was colorful and striking, but her beauty really knocked the look out of the park. From the hair to the bold red lip, she looked truly stunning.
Zendaya's most recent Met Gala appearance pre hiatus was in 2019. Nailing the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” theme, Z stepped on the pink carpet as Cinderella with her longtime stylist Law Roach as her fairy godfather. (I mean, her Tommy Hilfiger dress lit up as she “transformed,” and she even left a glass slipper behind.)
Zendaya made her long-awaited return at the Met Gala 2024 wearing a custom siren gown by Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano with dramatic makeup to boot. While everyone was already impressed, the actor had an ace up her sleeve and actually walked the red carpet twice.
For her second Met Gala 2024 look, Zendaya changed into a super-long black gown from Givenchy's spring 1996 haute couture collection, which needed four people to help with the train so she could walk up the stairs.
