EastEnders Bex Fowler return confirmed as actress Jasmine Armfield reprises role

Bex Fowler is confirmed to be returning to EastEnders very soon following the death of her father Martin Fowler.
Actress Jasmine Armfield is reprising the role after five years away for "devastating" scenes, amid another huge return being on the way. After her exit to go traveling in 2020, Bex heads back home to be with her mother Sonia Fowler and other grief-stricken family members.
So much has gone on in Bex's absence from Martin reuniting with Ruby Allen and finding out he had a son, Roman, to his dying declaration of love to Stacey Slater. Then there's mum Sonia who has just welcomed a baby daughter, months on from being imprisoned for a murder actually committed by her now dead fiancé Reiss Colwell.
It was Reiss crashing into the pub, thanks to Cindy Beale, that caused the explosion that killed Martin. Bex will be seen struggling to come to terms with the loss of her father, which she's set to be told about this week in heartbreaking episodes.
In the coming weeks Bex makes the decision to return for her father's funeral as she unites with her loved ones. Actress Jasmine revealed all on her return, saying: "It’s wonderful to be back at EastEnders and to see so many familiar faces.
"It’s amazing for me to come home, but for Bex, it’s an absolutely devastating time because she’s lost her dad. She’s grown up a lot, having spent the past few years travelling, so we’re going to see a much more mature and grown-up version of Bex this time around."
Soap boss Chris Clenshaw added: "We’re delighted to welcome Jasmine home to EastEnders as part of Martin’s farewell. There’s no way that Bex would miss her dad’s funeral, and Sonia needs her eldest daughter more than ever. It’s been five years in which Bex has gone out into the world, so she’ll come back with renewed wisdom and experience."
Bex isn't the only Fowler heading back to Walford to say goodbye to Martin though. It's also been confirmed his niece Vicki Fowler, Bex's cousin, is returning to the show after 20 years away.
The role has been recast, while Vicki plans to stay in Walford with her new man Ross and his son Joel. Andor and Rain Dogs actor Alice has spoken about her debut on the soap, revealing: "I am so excited.
"I have always watched the show, and I was born in February 1985, so I’m the same age as EastEnders! It’s so cool to be playing a character like Vicki - we think we know her, but a lot has changed. I can’t wait for all the Albert Square drama ahead."
