A blazing archive clip of Sharon Osbourne defending her husband Ozzy has resurfaced and is spreading like wildfire across social media following the rock legend's passing.

Supporters have applauded Sharon's unwavering devotion as the footage shows the mother-of-three striking back at Megan Hauserman.

She was competing on Rock of Love: Charm School at the time and had made disparaging remarks about Ozzy. Megan had declared: "The only thing you've managed to do as a celebrity is to watch your husband's brain turn into a vegetable."

Sharon addressed the audience saying: "I feel so sorry for her," before rising to her feet, serenely taking a gulp from her mug - then flinging the remaining liquid directly into Megan's face. The dramatic confrontation occurred during the 2008 run of Sharon's programme, where participants vied to master proper manners in pursuit of $100,000 (£73,000).

Megan, who worked as a model and performer, was booted out in the fourth episode of her series, just after her clash with Sharon, who was then 56 and already a recognised figure across American and British music and television industries. She declared to her viewers: "They can f*** with me... I don't give a sh** - but not my family."

Security personnel rushed onto the stage as the situation intensified on the VH1 show. After the heated altercation, Megan launched legal action against Sharon for assault and emotional trauma, whilst Sharon filed a counter-claim, arguing the reality personality had accepted the risks and violated their television contract by pursuing litigation, reports the Mirror.

The matter was resolved privately in 2011 for an undisclosed six-figure amount. Megan, now 43, once headlined her notorious and short-lived dating show: Megan Wants a Millionaire.

The series was cancelled during its first season, with only three episodes broadcast in 2009.

This week, as an old Rock of Love: Charm School clip resurfaced online, social media users targeted Megan with criticism. They also praised Sharon's unwavering devotion, with one user commenting: "The way she loved Ozzy is something not common... She really, REALLY loved her husband."

Another remarked: "Ozzy was so blessed to have someone as loving as she was."

Another admirer posted: "Ozzy was the king of metal, but she was the queen. Never attack royalty."

while a different user stated: "GO Sharon. She doesn't play when it comes to her man."

A fiery throwback

Music manager Sharon, aged 72, shared her profound sorrow over Ozzy's death this week. The television star, known for her role as a judge on The X Factor, released a family statement saying: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

Sharon and Ozzy tied the knot in Hawaii, US, in July 1982 and had three children together; Jack, Kelly, and Aimee. Their light-hearted reality TV show, The Osbournes, was a massive success, airing for three seasons from 2002 to 2005.

Ozzy passed away on Tuesday "surrounded by love" after a struggle with Parkinson's disease.
