Sir Rod Stewart has been "ordered to rest" by doctors after coming down with the flu, casting doubt on his eagerly anticipated performance at Glastonbury Festival, this came in addition to cancelling a gig from his Las Vegas residency. The 80 year old rock icon raised concerns among fans following the announcement that he needs vocal rest during his 'One Last Time' tour which includes dates across North America, Europe, and South America for 2025.

He was then unable to fulfil his commitments for his Las Vegas residency show on Sunday 1st June, prompting a postponement of his set at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Subsequently, Sir Rod had to cancel yet another concert scheduled for Thursday 5th June “due to illness”.

His most recent update relayed his dismay: "I'm awfully sorry to have to cancel my show on June 5th at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.", reports the Manchester Evening News.

He stated: ""I don't mind, I think I deserve it (being called a legend). I just wish they wouldn't call it the tea-time slot.

"Just last month, the star was forced to rest his voice following a concert at Milan's Unipol Forum, wearing a sign around his neck to communicate this to those nearby.Although he has ruled out any further "large scale" tours after his current one concludes, Rod made it clear in an Instagram post that he has no intention of retiring. In his post, he declared: "This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. ""I love what I do, and I do what I love.

I'm fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 metres in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79. "I'd like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next – smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not..."".

"My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding."

Following the delay of Sunday's gig, he explained: "I am sorry to inform you that I'm not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10.

"Your tickets will be valid for the new date."

Rod Stewart is slated to fill the esteemed Sunday afternoon legends slot at the Glastonbury Festival in just a few weeks. On the ultimate day of the festivity, Sunday, June 29, the beloved Scottish singer is set to perform from 3.45pm to 5.15pm.

Nonetheless, Rod has verbally expressed his displeasure about the time-slot frequently being labelled as the "tea-time slot".
