Sir Rod Stewart hailed 'the best' as he's joined by three legends during Glastonbury set

Sir Rod Stewart has wowed the crowds with an 'iconic' show at the Glastonbury Festival.

The 80-year-old music legend took command of the Pyramid Stage on Sunday afternoon (June 29), stepping into the coveted Legends slot, and was accompanied by special guests.

In a touching homage to his Scottish ancestry, he opened the performance with Scotland the Brave played on bagpipes.

With energy that belied his years, Sir Rod delivered renditions of fan favourites such as Baby Jane, Do Ya Think I'm Sexy, and Maggie May, thrilling the vast audience.

Penny Lancaster, Sir Rod's wife, was spotted giving her support from backstage, basking in the success of his dazzling performance, reports Bristol Live.

A touching moment during the performance came with a tribute to Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie, who passed away in November 2022.

Sir Rod honoured the late musician at Glastonbury by displaying her image on the big screen.

The surprises continued as Sir Rod brought Mick Hucknall, Ronnie Wood, and Lulu onto the stage to amp up his stellar performance.

Collaborating live, Sir Rod and Mick Hucknall presented a powerful duet on If You Don't Know Me By Now, Ronnie Wood joined for Stay With Me, and Lulu teamed up with him for Hot Legs.

Sailing, the monumental ballad that rocketed Sir Rod to chart-topping status in 1976, was the grand finale of his set as his backing singers donned sailor caps in union with the song's theme.

Glastonbury enthusiasts immediately hit social media to applaud Sir Rod's performance, with several declaring it 'one of the best'.

An individual took to X, proclaiming: "Rod Stewart is the class act. Ain't nobody can top him now #Glastonbury."

Glasto devotees are raving about Rod Stewart's powerhouse performance, claiming he's redefined the festival's legends slot.

A music enthusiast gushed: "I'm a massive fan of the legends slot...and I Just watch Rod Stewart...and he's absolutely smashed it and taken it to the next level, up there with one of the best Glasto performances I've ever seen #Glastonbury #Glastonbury2025."
