Suri Cruise is keeping her effortlessly stylish streak going with another casual summer 'fit. Just days after being spotted wearing Nike Cortez sneakers, jeans, and a cami, the 19‑year‑old is out again, this time flaunting a quintessential Y2K staple: a belly button piercing.
Recently, Suri Cruise was photographed enjoying a solo walk in New York, combining two of this summer's biggest fashion trends: ballet flats and shorts. Instead of the uber-popular jorts, Cruise prioritized comfort, giving the trend an athleisure spin and opting for cropped gray joggers that reached just below her knees.

Cruise completed the 'fit with navy Mary Jane-style ballet flats in a velvet finish, and added a cropped white tank top, which fully let her belly button piercing shine.

The piercing seems to be a 2025 addition, as Cruise was spotted jogging in a crop top last year, and her belly button was ringless. It's unclear when she might have gotten the piercing, but the first proper glimpse of the jewelry was on July 8, 2025. Cruise seems to be rocking a small golden-toned curved barbell on her navel, a more subtle style than the traditional bigger barbells used for belly piercings.
The small piece of jewelry, similar to what Dua Lipa wears in her navel, gave Cruise's casual fit an undeniable ’00s touch, and we can't help but think back on her mother, Katie Holmes, in Disturbing Behavior.

While portraying Rachel Wagner in the 1998 movie, Holmes looked like the spitting image of her daughter, rocking both a rose ring and a belly button ring as part of her character's wardrobe. While Holmes's piercings for the movie were faux, it seems like the love for piercings does run in the family, as the actor did debut a real nose piercing in 2024.

Holmes rocked a dainty silver nose ring for a few months in 2024 before retiring it in 2025. Like her daughter, the star also appears to have added a handful of ear piercings to her collection, so the mother-daughter bonding through piercings remains strong. We love to see it!
