Valerie Bertinelli Flaunts Red Bikini in New Photo After 65th Birthday
Valerie Bertinelli is taking the plunge into a new chapter.
One week after celebrating her 65th birthday, the One Day at a Time alum stripped down to her swimsuit to show off how she's been keeping her body and mind healthy as of late.
In a carousel shared to her Instagram April 30, Valerie wore a tiny red bikini, brown-rimmed glasses and a pair of necklaces while hanging outside in her backyard. In one clip from the roundup, the actress dove head-first into her rectangular underground pool and subsequently swam a lap with a giant grin across her face.
For Valerie, the activity has become a great way to improve her health.
"My pool is 66°," she explained in the caption. "Now, for a cold plunge that’s relatively warm. (that’s what they say whoever they are) but along with everything else I’ve been experimenting with, this has helped improve my mood, has reduced inflammation and it’s easier than filling my bath up with ice cubes."
And Valerie's efforts to improve her mood seem to be working. After all, the actress—who confirmed her split from Mike Goodnough in March following one year of dating—rang in her 65th year with a positive outlook on her future despite facing several challenges.
"Went through it all in the last handful of years and I’m so grateful for the downs as much as I am for all of the ups I am blessed to experience," Valerie reflected in an April 23 Instagram post. "The light at the end of the tunnel is finally here. I can see it. I feel it."
The Hot in Cleveland star—who shares son Wolfgang "Wolfie" Van Halen, 34, with late ex-husband Eddie Van Halen—went on to note that she has more than just a rejuvenating wellness routine working in her favor these days.
As she put it, "I love my family. I love my friends. I love all of you out there supporting me and being a part of our community here."
Valerie added, "I am one lucky and grateful mofo."
