American tech giant is working on a new AI chip for China.

US President Donald Trump last week opened the door to the possibility of selling more advanced Nvidia chips in China , Reuters recalled.
The new chip, tentatively known as the B30A, will use a single-core design that is likely to provide half the processing power of the more advanced dual-core configuration in Nvidia's flagship B300 accelerator card, sources told Reuters.
A single-core design is a design in which all the major components of an integrated circuit are made on a single, continuous piece of silicon, rather than being separated into multiple cores.
The new chip will feature high-bandwidth memory and Nvidia's NVLink technology , enabling fast data transfer between processors. These features are also available in the H20 chip, which is based on the company's older Hopper architecture, Reuters explains.
The specifications of the chip have not yet been fully determined, but Nvidia hopes to deliver samples to Chinese customers for testing as early as next month , according to information obtained by Reuters.
"We evaluate a variety of products in the context of our strategy to ensure we are prepared to compete within the limits permitted by governments. Everything we offer is fully approved by the relevant authorities and intended solely for commercial use," the statement read.
