"It was unreal, because no-one saw it coming" - Corbett on Tipp's All-Ireland triumph

Former Tipperary star Lar Corbett says the best thing about the Premier County’s All-Ireland senior football championship success this past summer was that no one saw it coming.
Liam Cahill’s men tore up the script by defeating Cork with a rousing second-half display Croke Park to land their county’s first All-Ireland SHC title since 2019
Speaking to RTE Radio One from the National Ploughing Championships in Screggan this week, Corbett heaped praise on players and management for the success over the Rebels and is already looking forward to next year’s Munster championship meeting between the two old rivals.
"It was unreal, because no-one saw it coming," he stated on Tipp’s Liam McCarthy Cup triumph in July.
"Anyone who said they did see it coming, I don't know if they're telling the truth. It was unreal.
"The few weeks leading up to it, the few weeks after it, it really is after giving Tipperary hurling a huge lift.
"You have to give it to Liam Cahill and his players, they were the only guys who really believed.
"You get a small little time to enjoy success. First round of the championship next year - Tipp and Cork down in Thurles."
