Brogan's Dublin Masters captaincy begins with a win

Bernard Brogan has been named captain of the Dublin Masters football team.
The seven-time All-Ireland SFC winner skippered the Dubs to an emphatic 4-21 to 1-6 victory over London in the opening round of the 2025 All-Ireland Gaelic Masters Football Championship at St Brigid’s GAA club in Blanchardstown last weekend. Brogan became eligible to play in the competition after turning 40 last year.
Meanwhile, Tyrone suffered an early setback in their quest for a five-in-a-row of Dr Mick Loftus Cups when they were edged out by Cavan on a 1-8 to 1-9 scoreline in Ballyconnell.
Each of the 25 teams taking part play six round-robin games between now and July 26, after which the table will decide which of the five competitions (Dr Mick Loftus Cup, Shield, Plate, Challenge Cup, Spirit Cup etc) they enter.
