Kilkenny are Leinster U20 hurling champions for the second time in four years after seeing off Dublin by 2-21 to 0-17 in Portlaoise last night.

Rory Glynn’s goal five minutes in set the tone for the Cats as they raced four points clear before Aaron McEvoy smashed in their second goal in the 12th minute.

Dublin hit back with a couple of Daniel O’Kelly frees but would go in at the break trailing on a 2-9 to 0-9 scoreline.

Michael Brennan extended the Kilkenny lead to seven a minute into the restart and, despite scores from O’Kelly (free) and Callum Graham, Mark Dowling’s lads would get comfortably over the line as Ed Lauhoff, Brennan and Anthony Ireland Wall all hit points down the home stretch.

The result means that Kilkenny will now face Tipperary in the All-Ireland U20HC final for the first time since 2008 next Saturday week, May 31st.
