Conor Benn issues immediate response to being slapped with egg by Chris Eubank Jr

Conor Benn has hit back at Chris Eubank Jr after being slapped with an egg by his bitter rival at their furious press conference in Manchester on Tuesday evening.

Tensions spilled over at the event previewing the pair's upcoming showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26 as both fighters traded insults.

There is huge anticipation for this fight, which was initially staged for October 2022 before it was cancelled after Benn allegedly failed two drugs tests.

With Benn since being cleared over the doping claims, the pair have resurrected their rivalry, which continues the legacy of their fathers Chris and Nigel. The two legendary fighters fought twice in 1990 and 1993.

Things were already hostile at the press conference in Manchester before Eubank and Benn were brought together for their face off in front of fans and media. After Benn whispered something in his rival's ear, Eubank appeared to pull an egg out of his pocket before smashing it against his opponent's face.

The shocking moment led to a brawl between the two camps on stage as security guards were forced to step in and separate the pair, with Benn seething and having to be held back.

After things cooled down, Benn broke his silence on social media and predicted a swift KO, writing: "That’s the only shot you’ll land on me you f***ing prick. Two rounds you are finished."

Eubank's stunt was in reference to Benn's claim that his alleged failed drug tests were due to consumption of eggs, which he brought up to mock his rival on stage during the press conference.

Eubank Jr also targeted Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn during the feisty encounter, refusing to let him speak as he opened the proceedings by introducing the fight.

He said: "Eddie, you know I don’t like you, right? So if you know that, what on God’s sweet earth makes you think I’m gonna listen to anything you have to say?

"We’re gonna skip past whatever bulls*** you were going to say. You can sabotage the event, and I’ll just start talking to Benn directly."
