Dowling issues rallying cry to Kildare fans

Kildare hurling manager Brian Dowling has called on supporters to turn out in big numbers for Saturday’s decisive Joe McDonagh Cup Round 5 clash with Down at Cedral St Conleth’s Park.
A win will secure the Lilywhites’ place in the final after stunning away victories over Carlow and Laois in their last two outings. Last Saturday’s 4-20 to 1-18 win in Portlaoise was a huge statement from one of the most improved teams in the country.
“Please God we’ll have a massive crowd on Saturday,” the former Kilkenny forward told the Kildare GAA Facebook page.
“I keep saying it like a broken record, the effort these lads are putting in, what they’re doing, putting Kildare hurling on the map. We need people coming out and supporting the team.
“Let’s get a big crowd out in Conleth’s and get them over the line.”
