Galway's Unusual Team Sheet Causes Confusion After CHC Meeting

Galway's squad announcement mind games have been thrown out the window after the CHC confirmed that, despite his naming on the Tribesmen team sheet, Darach Fahy would in fact be suspended for this Sunday's Leinster Final.
The Central Competitions Control Committee cited Fahy for contact made with his hurley against Dublin's Andrew Jamieson-Murphy’s leg after the Galway netminder passed the ball away, an incident which referee Colm Lyons didn’t deal with last weekend.
Despite Galway submitting their official team sheet with Fahy's name beside number one, there was no sign of him on the Tribesmen social media team sheets, where Eanna Murphy was instead named to start in the goals.

While the option of appeal remains open for Fahy, it is now apparent he will play no role in Sunday's provincial decider.
Hence, it was very unusual to see him named and registered to start in the official team sheet sent to the CCCC this week. Whether it was a genuine mistake or a more plausible attempt at getting one early step above the Cats, we may never know.
For Kilkenny, manager Derek Lyng has reverted to his strongest selection for Sunday's Leinster SHC final against Galway after experimenting in the dead-rubber defeat to Wexford, which saw Adrian Mullen at six.
Eoin Cody is still absent, but Richie Reid is fit to start for the six-in-a-row chasers, having come off the bench against the Model men.

For the Munster final, Damien Cahalane and Diarmuid Healy are the only two changes in the announced Cork team to face Limerick in Saturday’s Munster SHC final in TUS Gaelic Grounds.
St Finbarr's man Cahalane comes in for injured Ger Millerick, who sustained a hand injury against Waterford, and Lisgoold’s Healy replaces Brian Roche, having both come on in last Sunday week’s final round win over Waterford.
Captain Rob Downey and Niall O’Leary are only fit for the bench, while Declan Dalton isn’t fit enough to make the match-day panel.

While for Limerick, Aidan O’Connor has been introduced to the Limerick team for Saturday’s Munster SHC final against Cork.
From the team that defeated Cork last month, the Monaleen man is the only change, coming in for Shane O’Brien, who drops to the bench.
However, with the likes of Delan Hannon, Seamus Flanagan, Peter Casey, Cathal O’Neill, Colin Coughlin and Darragh O’Donovan all to call upon from the bench, it's safe to say Kiely isn’t short on options.
