Kerry defeat Cork for third consecutive Munster MFC crown

Kerry were crowned Munster minor football champions for the third year in-a-row after defeating Cork by 0-18 to 0-9 at Austin Stack Park last night.
A tight opening quarter in Tralee saw a brace of points from Ben Kelliher move the Kingdom towards a two-point lead before Kevin Griffin (2) helped them send over four of the next five points.
That would be enough for the hosts to carry in a 0-8 to 0-4 advantage at the break and Griffin sailed over an early two-pointer for them in the second-half.
Cork hit back with Eoin Maguire’s third point of the decider ahead of another Griffin two-pointer and a brace of points each by Tadhg O’Connell and Ben Corkery Delaney raising the Rebels’ tally.
Gearóid White’s free late on wrapped up the win for Kerry which sends them into the All-Ireland quarter-finals against the winners of tomorrow’s Ulster final between Cavan and Tyrone in Enniskillen (5.15pm).
