Maeve Monaghan is the LGFA Player of the Month for September

Maeve Monaghan from Monaghan club Emmet Óg has been honoured with The Croke Park Hotel/LGFA Player of the Month award for September 2025.

Maeve (24) played a starring role as Emmet Óg made history on Sunday September 28 by claiming the Monaghan senior title for the very first time.

Having come through the challenge of Emyvale at the semi-final stage, Emmet Óg won a dramatic Farney County decider against competition specialists and former All-Ireland champions Donaghmoyne.

After the sides were level at half-time, Emmet Óg eventually prevailed by just a single point, 3-6 to 0-11, and Maeve’s all-action display earned her the Player of the Match award.

Emmet Óg’s thoughts now turn to the provincial championship and a quarter-final clash away to Cavan’s Lurgan Ladies next Sunday, October 19.
