Man Utd treble winner urges club to sign Paul Pogba for THIRD time after drug ban

Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has urged his former club to sign Paul Pogba for the THIRD time.
Yorke, a Treble winner with the Reds in 1999, reckons Pogba is still better player than anyone currently available to beleaguered boss Ruben Amorim - despite being banned from football since September 2023 for failing a drug test.
The 31-year-old has twice previously walked out of Old Trafford to join Juventus - and many United fans have not forgiven him. But Yorke believes Pogba would improve United immediately when his suspension ends next month and has told Sir Jim Ratcliffe to make a deal happen.
Yorke said: “I would give Paul Pogba a third chance, definitely, because of what United currently have and because of what we know he is capable of producing. I would say, ‘let’s have a look’. Give him a contract. You’ve got time here to prove yourself.
“You can come and play and help us out with the situation. I’m sure Pogba would be very keen. Maybe he might want a long-term deal because of the security.
“I can see why his name has been mentioned because United have struggled, and Pogba is a damn good player. Even though he’s 31, I think he’s far better than what we have now. And if you’re going to get a player for free, who’s far better than all our players in midfield, then you do it.”
Yorke’s advice to United was outlined in an interview with casinobeats.com. Pogba first quit United in 2012 to sign for Juve after being angered by Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to bring Paul Scholes out of retirement rather than give the Frenchman more game-time.

He returned to Manchester in a £90million deal four years later - only to walk out again to sign for the Italian club once more when his contract expired in 2022. If he returned a third time it would be a sign of how desperate United have become during a nightmare season.
United face Ipswich tomorrow night desperate for points to avoid being dragged into the relegation zone. They meet Fulham in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday before travelling to Real Sociedad in the last 16 of the Europa League.
Pogba’s contract was cancelled by Juventus after he received a four-year suspension after testing positive for non-endogenous testosterone. The ban was reduced on appeal and the World Cup-winning midfielder has been stepping up his fitness programme in a bid to persuade clubs to give him a chance.
