Premier League figure had 'cash for sex' sessions with teenage girl he denies raping

A senior Premier League figure arranged "cash for sex" sessions with a teenage girl that has accused him of sexual assault, according to a report.
Court documents say that the girl was left with post-traumatic stress disorder after the alleged incidents. She is suing for aggravated damages for sexual assault and intentional infliction of injury and alleges that when she was aged 15 the man invited her to his home in the 1990s to discuss a career opportunity, leading to an ordeal she described as “disgusting and traumatising.”
The accused, who still works in the Premier League, cannot be named after a high court judge last year granted an anonymity order. He denies the accusations and of having any inappropriate relations with an underage girl but admits asking the teenager when she was 16 or 17 “if she wanted to earn some cash for sex", according to High Court documents first reported by the New York Times. The defendant has described the allegations as "malicious" and claims the woman contacted him multiple times over the following years to offer sexual favours in return for money.
A signed statement on behalf of the defendant reads: "On the vast majority of occasions (he) has declined offers of sex, although he has engaged in sexual activity with the claimant on up to about 15 occasions in total over the years, for which he rewarded her with cash payments in line with her expectations.
"On one occasion, the defendant engaged in sexual activity with both the claimant and her sister, both of whom were looking to earn some cash.” The complainant came forward in 2021 with a claim that she was raped. But the man was never arrested and the Crown Prosecution Service kept the case on file.
