I flew business class with 9 different airlines—1 blew me away

Flying Business Class is a luxury that’s easy to get used to. Preferential boarding, three-course menus on real plates, and, of course, lie-flat seats, the perks are undeniably lavish. However, some airlines do treat their passengers to additional, often unexpected services that make all the difference when travelling long haul.
Thanks to a mix of professional commitments and good fortune, I’ve been able to try several Business Class cabins. One airline, however, was so good that I was left looking forward to my next flight with them.
The journey in question? A British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Barbados.
The perks are outstanding from the moment you step into the airport's lounge, with a huge variety of food and drinks on demand, as well as comfortable seating to pass the time in style (or just doze off).
Once you're on the plane, you're in for some phenomenal customer service from the cabin crew (in true British fashion), elaborate menus with plenty of choice in both food and beverages, and spacious seats that allow for more than enough privacy.
My journey started off as you’d expect—glass of bubbly in hand. And the flight attendant who served me made sure to let me know, ‘It’s not prosecco, darling, it’s Champagne.’ That’s fine by me—either works. Thanks.
I then spotted the amenity kit, a little White Company-branded bag filled with goodies from the brand—perfect for extending the pre-bedtime self-care routine long enough to make the journey seem shorter.
Lunch was amazing, with a menu featuring some international dishes as well as British classics, including a well-curated cheeseboard. It even included an elegant cocktail and wine list to pair according to taste, something I've not experienced on many flights.
However, the cherry on top was the afternoon tea experience. It turns out the 40,000ft altitude and the cabin pressure don't impair the taste buds' ability to enjoy a good scone and a few finger sandwiches. And the tea selection? Fantastic in a way only the British could've done it.
The next part of the trip was spent playing around with the buttons until I found a reclining position I liked (aided by some really luscious pillow and bedding). I was then ready to scroll through a seemingly endless list of TV shows and movies until, some 20 minutes later, I fell asleep for the rest of the flight.
And that is how you do Business Class right.
