Scott McTominay is Napoli’s biggest doubt approaching their Champions League test away against PSV Eindhoven at Phillips Stadion on Tuesday night, and Antonio Conte says that the decision will be down to the midfielder himself.
Napoli will take on PSV in the third round of Champions League fixtures at 20.00 BST on Tuesday night.
Conte has a handful of injury concerns to deal with, but is also boosted by three potential returnees to the starting line-up.
Stanislav Lobotka is definitely ruled out and Billy Gilmour is expected to replace him again. It could also be one too soon for Rasmus Hojlund, which would mean another start for Lorenzo Lucca.

There could be a return to the starting XI for Italy international Alessandro Buongiorno in place of Juan Jesus. Matteo Politano could also come back into the side after starting on the bench over the weekend.
McTominay missed Napoli’s 1-0 loss to Torino in Serie A on Saturday due to a cut above his ankle. He trained with his teammates on Monday, but remains a doubt for PSV. Sky Sport Italia predicts that he will start. Other outlets suggest that Noa Lang will be given a run-out at his former club in the event that McTominay is not available to start.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Monday, Conte said “It will be him who makes the decision,” in reference to the McTominay doubt, explaining that only the player himself, and not the medical staff, will be able to tell if he feels comfortable to play or not.
