Fires: Firefighter seriously injured during firefighting operations

A firefighter was struck by a beam and seriously injured while extinguishing a fire in Wangen im Allgäu (Ravensburg district). An empty storage shed caught fire, according to police . The shed had to be demolished during the firefighting operations, and the firefighter was struck by the beam.

According to police, a rescue helicopter took the 25-year-old to a hospital. His life is not in danger. The fire reportedly caused damage in the low four-figure range. The cause was initially unclear.
