It's certainly not the easiest task to properly introduce a celebrated Iffland Ring winner as a new ensemble member. Last weekend, artistic director Oliver Reese cleared the entire Berlin Ensemble stage for Jens Harzer and tailored a dazzling text for him, allowing him, in an intense two-hour solo, to unleash all the playful intelligence and subtle, nuanced subtlety that have made him the exceptional actor he has been for years.
