No big show, no new promises – Tesla 's robotaxi service launched in Austin, Texas , on Sunday with unusually quiet tones. For $4.20 per ride, customers can now be driven around the city within a limited area. However, the fleet is still quite small; Tesla spoke of 10 to 20 vehicles at launch. Furthermore, only select influencers and investors were initially invited to take the first rides in the robotaxis.
