Expansion: Cantor Fitzgerald's plans in Germany become more concrete

Among the 15 employees who transferred from Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe to Cantor Fitzgerald is Marc Osigus, the former head of investment banking at HAL, who announced his move via LinkedIn. "I am thrilled to be taking on the role of Head of Investment Banking for Continental Europe at Cantor Fitzgerald," Osigus wrote. He also said he was looking forward to working with many familiar and some new colleagues, with the goal of expanding the firm's presence in Europe.

Christian von Dreising also joins Cantor Fitzgerald as a Managing Director. "I am very much looking forward to this new chapter – advising on and executing IPOs and capital increases for leading mid-cap companies and growth startups in Continental Europe," he writes on his LinkedIn profile. At HAL, he previously served as Head of Equity / Debt Capital Markets – Investment Banking.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Osigus works from Hamburg. Von Dreising is based in Frankfurt, as is Robert Brownell , who, according to his LinkedIn profile, was Head of Equity Capital Markets at HAL for over six years. Previous career positions included Lazard, Nomura, and ABN Amro.

Carsten Kinder heads the equity business from Zurich

Cantor Fitzgerald also appointed Carsten Kinder as Head of Equities for Continental Europe. According to his LinkedIn profile, he will be based at the company in Zurich. He most recently headed the equities business at HAL for seven years. Prior to that, he held 13 years of senior positions at Berenberg , including eleven years as Head of Equities Distribution for Switzerland. Kinder most recently served as Managing Director and Global Head of ECM Distribution/Equity Sales. Kinder began his career as Head of Equities Distribution at the former Hypovereinsbank (AP Bank).

According to her LinkedIn profile, Marie-Thérèse Grübner, among others, now works for the US firm from Hamburg, alongside Osigus. Her position: Managing Director and Head of Research Continental Europe. She has been with HAL since 2018, most recently heading Institutional Research in Investment Banking. Other career positions include MM Warburg & Co. and Merrill Lynch.

There has been speculation about opening an office in Hamburg. When asked whether it has already opened and how many employees are currently working or will be working there, this editorial team has not yet received a response from Cantor Fitzgerald. However, a person familiar with the matter confirmed to this editorial team that they are still looking for the right office space, but that there will "definitely" be an office in Hamburg. According to the report, there are even plans for Cantor Fitzgerald's headquarters to be located in the Hanseatic city.
