Financial portfolio management since 1998: These asset managers have held the Bafin license for the longest time

Financial portfolio management since 1998: These asset managers have held the Bafin license for the longest time

At the beginning of 1998, the Federal Office for Financial Services (BAWE), the predecessor of today's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), took over supervision of financial services companies engaged in financial portfolio management. Some of the asset managers from that time have not surrendered their licenses since midnight on January 1, 1998 – we'll show you how.

Headquarters: Osnabrück

Year of foundation: 1889

Methodology: The data is based on the BaFin database. The editorial team analyzed all securities institutions currently licensed to manage financial portfolios and identified those that received such a license as early as midnight on January 1, 1998, the earliest possible date.

It's important to note that the information on the issue date in the BaFin license is decisive – but this information doesn't say anything about the age of the companies. Some of the asset managers are significantly older, but they didn't receive the license considered for this analysis directly on January 1, 1998.
