Annual climbing plants: Towards the sun

May has arrived and the stress is already here. Anyone with a garden, a terrace or a balcony is starting to get the feeling that they haven't managed to get the big projects done again. Vegetables and flowers are already going into the ground, sure, but things aren't really going well with the climbing and vine plants that provide privacy and shade and are the ultimate treat for ambitious hobby gardeners. If only they had planted wisteria years ago, they would now have a meter-high column of flowers like their neighbors. If they had cultivated climbing roses, they could picturesquely overgrow the roof of the garden shed. If they had Virginia creeper or kiwis and guided them over an arbor, they could linger under them on sunny days. If only, if only, if only.
