Energy transition: Wind turbine on your doorstep, money in your account

To increase acceptance, municipalities and residents are supposed to share in the profits from wind power and large-scale solar plants. Is this also an effective means of countering the AfD's opponents of the energy transition?

Anyone who wants to erect a wind turbine in Saxony must expect trouble. Sometimes it gets downright aggressive. Project managers and association representatives recently reported to the Sächsische Zeitung that threats have even been made against local mayors who support wind power , or against property owners who want to lease their land. Companies now organize security guards at information evenings. For the far-right scene, the AfD, and the Free Saxons, the fight against wind turbines has become a kind of core brand. They generally reject the energy transition away from oil, gas, coal, and nuclear power.
