The Finnish-Russian border, once a relatively quiet stretch of Northern Europe, is now a simmering hotbed of crisis: characterized by closed border crossings, a growing military presence, and angry officials whose patience is running thin. While Finnish authorities are burning hundreds of thousands of euros a month to maintain the current border closure with Russia , satellite images simultaneously show alarming Russian troop movements.
