The Central Association of German Skilled Crafts (ZDH) has criticized the failure to reduce the electricity tax for everyone and accused the coalition of a breach of trust.

Crafts President: Decision on electricity tax damages trust
"The electricity tax reduction for all businesses was not announced anywhere, but was repeatedly and bindingly recorded in writing - in the coalition agreement, in resolutions of the previous coalition committee, and in the federal government's so-called relief package," said association president Jörg Dittrich.
Many craft businesses had trusted the promise and incorporated it into their planning. "If central, repeatedly promised relief measures don't materialize, while expensive political projects are being implemented at the same time, businesses' trust in the credibility of political action as a whole will be shaken," he said.
For the time being, the electricity tax for consumers will not be reduced as much as originally promised. This is the outcome of the second meeting of the coalition committee of the CDU/CSU and SPD.
