All special jerseys of the 2024/25 season: Regular jerseys

The record champions are playing it safe with their anniversary jersey: a sophisticated color combination, the magical number 125 above the crest, and the retro Adidas logo. A pattern runs across the entire jersey, including the founding logo. The only catch: Munich is a bit late to the party—FC Augsburg released a visually very similar jersey this season. FCB itself has also used a similar template before: for the 2022 Oktoberfest jersey.

Bayern players as gray mice? A rarity. The Oktoberfest jersey wasn't meant to invalidate this fact. Instead, the gray look is meant to evoke the traditional costumes that are an integral part of Oktoberfest. And just like a visit to Oktoberfest, the jersey falls into the category of a matter of taste.

Special jerseys with important messages and added visual value aren't as common as you might think. The FC Bayern women's team is raising awareness of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with their special jersey – featuring pink accents and the distinctive ribbon symbol on the number flock.

To celebrate its 120th anniversary, the Werkself opted for a simple design reminiscent of the club's very first jersey. The kit supplier and sponsor coordinated colors—if that wasn't appreciated enough at first glance, the official product description reminds you four times that the "tone-on-tone look" was used. The club's original crest complements the jersey nicely.

A BVB jersey from 2025 with a Sammer flock? With the release of the special jersey commemorating the 30th anniversary of the 1995 championship, that's no longer a special request. The neon yellow jersey cannot be flocked with personal names; instead, players can choose between players from the current squad and those from the championship-winning squad.

The club's own history provides the perfect basis for an anniversary jersey. This was also the case with FSV Mainz 05, which celebrated its 120th anniversary with a tribute to a jersey from 1911. A comic strip included with the jersey also commemorates the history.

The self-proclaimed carnival club also released a carnival jersey in the fall of 2024. With this color selection, no one can be accused of designing the jersey too plainly.

To mark Diego's farewell match, Werder Bremen also released a special jersey. Inspired by the colors of the jerseys from his time at Werder, the jersey leaves a classic impression. However, the placement of his photo on the inside of the neck—as a tribute to his goal from 62.5 meters—may raise some eyebrows.

Borussia Mönchengladbach's special jersey has a slightly different color in each photo, but it sets a precedent for Children's Rights Day. The jersey's release was combined with other themed activities on a match day.

To convey this statement as clearly as possible, FC St. Pauli has resorted to an unusual method: The club logo is colored brown in the jersey, thus blending in visually. The inscription "No place for racism" is thus the only noticeable feature—which is also the club's intention.

Hoffenheim also celebrated 125 years of TSG. A special gold-plated jersey was presented as a gift. It was somewhat reminiscent of FC Venezia.

A 125th anniversary is also being celebrated in the north. KSV Holstein opted for white jerseys – in remembrance of the jerseys worn at its founding in 1900. White was also worn at the very first Bundesliga match.

The 125th anniversary is a thing of the past: in Bochum, the 637th anniversary is being celebrated – with the city's May Eve Festival. The blue jersey features two strikingly wide stripes, reminiscent of the festival's traditional costumes. A diamond pattern runs across the entire jersey, bearing a striking resemblance to a quilted sofa.

At HSV, eight girls had the chance to help design a special jersey to celebrate International Day of the Girl. Each number is decorated with a drawing that represents a unique symbol for each participant. The only problem: the jerseys weren't used as planned in the first team's match against Nuremberg because the dark blue is too similar to Nuremberg's dark red.

The current second-placed team can at least call themselves the second division jersey champions – at least in terms of the number of special jerseys released. As is tradition, the Billy Goats released a diversity jersey for Diversity Matchday. It's not a revelation in terms of design, but it sends a clear message.

The hype surrounding retro jerseys has, of course, also reached Cologne. Effzeh presented a "lifestyle jersey," a special jersey not even intended for games. The white shirt with the elegant dark red collar is worn in the advertising images by likeable older fans, whose stories can be read in the campaign.

The fact that Lukas Podolski still regularly plays in the Polish Ekstraklasa rightly didn't stop anyone in Cologne from celebrating his retirement. They even gave him a special jersey, naturally inspired by the home kit from his debut season in 2003/2004.

The women's team of 1. FC Köln has managed to establish itself in the Bundesliga. In terms of average attendance, the Cologne women's team even surpasses FC Bayern. To mark International Women's Day, they received a new jersey, which they wore in their match against FC Bayern. The design was no slouch: rose outlines are spread across the entire jersey.

SC Paderborn shouts, "Finally!" But there are no cheers. With a bright green jersey, the club wants to draw attention to the medical use of cannabis and research in this field. The sticker on the chest does its job, but club affiliation and visual added value fall by the wayside.

Anyone who's shocked at the thought that the 2014/15 season was already ten years ago should be somewhat reassured by a glance at 1. FC Magdeburg's new special jersey. The club is celebrating the anniversary of its return to professional football with a classic jersey featuring the club crest at the center.

Fortuna Düsseldorf drew inspiration from Germany's largest Japanese community and presented the "Little Tokyo" jersey. There's certainly a lot to be said about the manga-style jerseys, but one thing is not to say they're boring.

Hannover 96 also dedicates its own special jersey to an important statement: The jersey is visually similar to the home jersey, but is in a darker red and is particularly striking due to the lettering on the chest.

It takes a lot of patience to recognize all the motifs that KSC has depicted in light gray on the special white jersey. Of course, a little bit of gold is also a must for the 130th anniversary.

In case you haven't noticed, many clubs will be celebrating their 125th anniversary in 2025. 1. FC Nürnberg has also prepared well for the anniversary and, among other things, is scoring points with the absence of its sponsor on its special jersey. Well, at least not on the fan version.

A special jersey in memory of a special person: Hertha BSC dedicates this jersey to the late president Kay Bernstein, released on the first anniversary of his death. The design seems logical for this occasion: it is inspired by a retro jacket that was Bernstein's trademark.

A combination of multiple patterns can quickly resemble a patchwork carpet. However, this initial association is quickly dispelled when you see Marcelinho in Hertha BSC's new special jersey. To mark its 26-year partnership with Nike, the club released a legacy jersey that is intended to commemorate the various kits with Nike as its supplier.

The German Cancer Aid is turning 50! FC Schalke 04 is marking the anniversary with a special jersey. The rather unusual color combination of two shades of blue, white, and pink is explained by the symbols of the four most common types of cancer in Germany. Each jersey comes with a brochure designed to educate on this topic.

The idea for the Fürth special jersey came from the sponsor: the company Hofmann Personal provided several clubs, including SpVgg Fürth, with a set of jerseys bearing the message "Diversity Wins." Unlike other jerseys on this list, it is not available for purchase.

There's no need to reinvent the wheel: SSV Ulm revived its jersey from the 1962/63 season to coincide with its DFB Cup match against FC Bayern. Ulm beat the Munich team 6-1 back then. The jersey was also successful in 2024, but things fared much worse in terms of the team's sporting performance.
