After returning to the team's headquarters in Orlando, Florida , Jamal Musiala underwent a medical examination. No serious injury was found. Initially, Bild reported that the 22-year-old had no structural injury. This also aligns with information from kicker, but the club has not yet issued a statement.
Musiala is expected to return to training on Sunday. The attacker was substituted just 25 minutes after coming on during FC Bayern's Club World Cup match against Boca Juniors due to calf problems.
Coach Vincent Kompany had already expressed optimism immediately after the match, hoping that "nothing serious" would happen. In the final group match, Bayern, who have already qualified for the knockout round, will face Benfica on Tuesday (9 p.m., LIVE! on kicker).
Musiala scored three times against AucklandAfter a torn muscle, Musiala had only returned in the 10-0 win against Auckland and celebrated a dream comeback against the New Zealanders. The 22-year-old scored just seven minutes after coming on, scoring a hat trick in just over 30 minutes on the pitch.
Musiala had previously been absent from the record champions for around two and a half months, but the appearance against Boca Juniors was already Musiala's 48th appearance of the current season - including the national team.
