Another brutal attack on a police officer in Berlin. A police officer was knocked unconscious on Sunday before the start of the match between BFC Dynamo and FSV Zwickau in the Regionalliga Nordost.

A police officer was knocked unconscious by football fans during the soccer match between BFC Dynamo and FSV Zwickau in the Regionalliga Nordost. Fans without tickets attempted to enter the Sportforum Hohenschönhausen on Sunday, police said. Officers attempted to prevent them from breaking into the ticket office.

According to police, fans brought a police officer to the ground and kicked and punched him in the head. The officer briefly lost consciousness and was taken to a hospital. Five of his colleagues suffered bruises but were able to continue their duties, they said.

According to the statement, the fans were stopped and the situation calmed down. Four fans were temporarily arrested.

According to police, 300 officers were deployed. During the match, there were reportedly provocations between fans of both teams, but these did not amount to criminal activity. Pyrotechnics and smoke bombs were also reportedly set off in the home fans' section. A confrontation at a fan bus was also prevented.
