Bundesliga: All matches, results & current table (4th matchday – 2025/26 season)
The 2025/26 Bundesliga season begins on Friday, August 22, 2025 , with the match between FC Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig . Tradition dictates that the reigning champions play the opening match.
The season ends with Matchday 34 on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The relegation matches will take place on May 21 and 22 (first legs) and May 25 and 26, 2026 (second legs).
The Bundesliga will be on winter break from December 22, 2025 , to January 9, 2026. In addition, no matchdays are scheduled during the following international match weeks:
- September 1–9, 2025
- October 6–14, 2025
- November 10–18, 2025
A total of 18 teams will compete in the new Bundesliga season. These include two teams promoted from the 2. Bundesliga: 1. FC Köln and Hamburger SV . 1. FC Heidenheim prevailed in the relegation play-off against SV 07 Elversberg, thus remaining in the top flight.
The 18 Bundesliga clubs will have a combined stadium capacity of just over 819,000 in the 2025/26 season. The largest stadiums by spectator capacity are in Dortmund (Signal Iduna Park, 81,365) and Munich (Allianz Arena, 75,024). Union Berlin (22,012) and Heidenheim (15,000) have the smallest capacity.
