Champions League live ticker: French champions against Bayern conquerors: Football fans flood Munich before the final

The match is set: The Champions League winner will be crowned in Munich on Saturday evening. Paris Saint-Germain will face Inter Milan. Follow the match live in the live ticker.

Saturday, May 31, 4:00 p.m.: A few hours before the Champions League final, Munich's streets are particularly busy. Police therefore advise avoiding the city area by car and using public transport instead.

Football fans will also have more trains and subways available for their journey. Additional subways were planned from the city center to Fröttmaning, according to the Munich Transport Company (MVG). A train was scheduled to arrive every five minutes starting at 1:00 p.m., and every three minutes starting at 3:00 p.m.

Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) has also expanded its timetable. On the routes from Munich to Tegernsee, Lenggries, and Bayrischzell, the last trains will depart at 1:10 a.m. The last train to Rosenheim, Kufstein, and Traunstein will depart from Munich Central Station around 1:00 a.m.

Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan will battle for the European football crown this Saturday (9:00 p.m./ZDF and DAZN). The French are slight favorites with the bookmakers in the Champions League final in Munich; they could achieve the treble of league, cup, and European crown. After the brief era of players like Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Neymar, the Parisians want to celebrate without a dazzling superstar and instead with a very young team.

The Italian runners-up, on the other hand, are relying on the experience of one of the oldest squads in the competition. The majority of the team was there two years ago when Inter lost to Manchester City in the Champions League final despite a strong performance. The Milanese, who defeated FC Bayern Munich, among others, in the knockout phase and avoided a "finale at home," are in with a chance of winning Europe's premier club competition for the fourth time. PSG, meanwhile, are hoping for their first triumph in the world's most prestigious club competition.
