FC Bayern: Agreement with Florian Wirtz? Leverkusen vehemently denies

Bayer Leverkusen has dismissed speculation that national soccer player Florian Wirtz may have already reached an agreement with FC Bayern Munich regarding a possible move to Munich. The Werkself stated this was "the 1,000th rumor," in response to inquiries from RTL/ntv and "sport.de."
Previously, speculation had surfaced that the German record champions' dream transfer might be slowly taking shape. The portal fussballtransfers.com reported that Bayern had "agreed on the basic terms of the contract" with Wirtz, but that an agreement between the clubs was still pending.
Manchester City and Real Madrid were also still hoping to sign the 21-year-old, it was reported. Wirtz's contract with Bayer runs until 2027.
Bayern Munich's greats Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge have recently repeatedly expressed their desire to bring Wirtz to the Isar. Both sit on the record champions' powerful supervisory board, and their word still carries great weight.
However, Leverkusen's sporting director Simon Rolfes had stated just a few days ago that the club would like the exceptional footballer to stay. There are "no other developments" and Bayer is "not concerned about pain thresholds."
Managing director Fernando Carro had previously emphasized that there was "no offer" for Wirtz from FC Bayern, whom he accused of putting on a "show": "They talk so much, it's actually not appropriate."
Munich's sporting director, Max Eberl, rejected this claim on behalf of himself and those responsible in the sporting management. Eberl admitted that the Munich team had been "accused in the past" of harassing their rivals during the crucial phase of the season, but: "We don't do that at all!"
