FC Bayern: With Bischof and Tah to the Club World Cup

FC Bayern: With Bischof and Tah to the Club World Cup

FC Bayern has apparently already managed to buy out its two summer signings, Tom Bischof and Jonathan Tah, to participate in the Club World Cup in the USA. According to a report in the trade magazine Kicker, the Munich club is paying TSG Hoffenheim a transfer fee of €300,000 for 19-year-old Bischof, who made his international debut for the national team on Sunday against France. The midfielder would have been free after June 30. He can now play for Bayern at the Club World Cup, which begins on Sunday. FIFA opened a special transfer window for such cases.

According to media reports, national defender Jonathan Tah is also joining Bayern early. "I'm ready, I'm looking forward to it," he said on Sunday after the 2-0 defeat to France. According to Sky, Tah's participation in the Club World Cup will cost Bayern €800,000 in transfer fees (plus potential bonuses). Tah, who was under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until June 30, would also have been free at the start of the regular season.

Bayern will face New Zealand's Auckland City FC in their first match of the Club World Cup next Sunday. Their other group stage opponents are Benfica Lisbon and Boca Juniors from Buenos Aires.
