Grasshoppers part ways with sporting director Stephan Schwarz – coach Oral remains for the time being

lbs . Grasshoppers have drawn conclusions from the ongoing sporting crisis and parted ways with sporting director Stephan Schwarz. According to consistent media reports, the decision was made on Monday morning; the official announcement is expected this afternoon. Schwarz worked at Grasshopper-Club for just over a year, and his assessment is sobering: The promised "gradual development" failed to materialize, and the team is currently in a worse position than at the same time last year, when GC secured its relegation in the play-offs.

The 2-0 defeat against FC Winterthur on Saturday was a new low. The team's modest performance in the second half, in particular, triggered alarm within the club. Nevertheless, Tomas Oral remains GC coach for the time being. However, his performance is also increasingly being criticized.
GC is currently facing direct relegation to the Challenge League. By releasing Schwarz, the club apparently wants to send a signal – but the turnaround on the pitch would have to follow quickly.
