Inter Milan relies on former professional Christian Chivu – successor to Inzaghi is confirmed

Inter Milan has replaced departed head coach Simone Inzaghi and will be relying on former pro Cristian Chivu for the position. The Champions League finalists confirmed the signing of the 44-year-old Romanian, who played for the Italian giants between 2007 and 2014.

Chivu has signed a two-year contract until June 2027, Inter said in a statement. The former professional previously worked for the current Italian runners-up as a player and youth coach. Since the spring, he has been coaching Serie A rivals Parma Calcio, saving them from relegation.

Inzaghi signed a contract in Saudi Arabia following Munich's 5-0 defeat in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain. According to media reports, the 49-year-old will receive an annual salary of up to €25 million from the Saudi club Al-Hilal. Like Inter, Al-Hilal is participating in the upcoming Club World Cup in the USA.
