Because he was feeling "physically and mentally unwell," Lewandowski recently canceled his participation in international matches. This prompted Probierz to strip his striker of his captain's armband. The 36-year-old reacted with offense and promptly announced his retirement from the national team. "Given the circumstances and the loss of trust in the coach of the Polish national team, I have decided to end my activities with the Polish national team," Lewandowski wrote on X. He only plans to return once Probierz is no longer in office.
