Shock at regional league soccer club Kickers Offenbach: According to the club, a medical emergency occurred during training on Tuesday. Coach Christian Neidhart reportedly collapsed.
As first reported by "Bild," coach Christian Neidhart reportedly collapsed on Tuesday. "Christian Neidhart will not participate in training until further notice," the Offenbach team told the German Press Agency. "We do not wish to make any further statements on the matter," they added.
It is unclear why the emergency occurred and how Neidhart is doing. The 56-year-old had recently been hospitalized with pancreatitis. According to media reports, Neidhart was reportedly back on the training ground for the first time on Tuesday when the incident occurred. According to "Bild," an ambulance was also dispatched.
With two games remaining, OFC is second in the Regionalliga Südwest, but no longer has a chance of promotion to the 3. Liga. They are twelve points behind TSG 1899 Hoffenheim II.
It was recently decided that Neidhart and the OFC would go their separate ways starting this summer. Kristjan Glibo is set to succeed him.
