Transfer saga nearing completion: Wirtz passes medical in Liverpool

He's THE signing of the summer so far: Florian Wirtz. It's been rumored for weeks, and now it could happen very quickly: The DFB star has reportedly cleared the final hurdle for his move to Liverpool FC.
Apparently, nothing stands in the way of the record-breaking transfer of German international Florian Wirtz to Liverpool FC. According to information from pay-TV broadcaster Sky and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old has successfully completed his medical with the English champions. Accordingly, a contract is currently being signed until 2030.
The day before, several media outlets had reported that Wirtz, who is currently under contract with runner-up Bayer Leverkusen, had flown to England on Thursday for a mandatory medical. Bild also published photos of his arrival at Cologne Airport, where he reportedly took off on a private plane.
Liverpool and Leverkusen have long since agreed on a transfer package that, according to media reports, could total up to €150 million, including a fixed fee and bonuses. Wirtz would thus be the most expensive transfer in Bundesliga and Premier League history. Only for strikers Neymar and Kylian Mbappé has Paris Saint-Germain paid two higher transfer fees.
