For the Nations League Final Four, national coach Julian Nagelsmann is counting on a debutant and a Bayern Munich returnee, among others. A European Championship hero is also likely to make his comeback.
According to media reports, VfB Stuttgart's Nick Woltemade is about to be called up to the German national team for the first time. According to the newspaper "Bild," national coach Julian Nagelsmann reportedly inquired about the almost two-meter-tall attacker with VfB coach Sebastian Hoeneß in mid-February.
The national coach is also expected to rely on a returning player for the Nations League Final Four: Serge Gnabry . As "Bild" reports, the FC Bayern winger is returning to the squad, which he was not part of for the quarterfinals against Italy. This was primarily due to his inconsistent performances.
In recent weeks, however, the 29-year-old has shown increasing form. Since the international matches in March, Gnabry has scored two goals and provided three assists for FC Bayern. The national coach is likely to reward this with a call-up.

A European Championship hero is also likely to return to the national team. Niclas Füllkrug is poised to make his comeback to the German national team after a truly disastrous season. His last international appearance was in September 2024, in a 5-0 win against Hungary. Since then, injuries have prevented him from making further appearances.
The West Ham United striker struggled with Achilles tendon and thigh problems and made only 19 appearances throughout the season, scoring three goals. Füllkrug has scored 14 goals in 22 international matches for Germany.
The national coach's squad for the Nations League Final Four will be announced this Thursday (11:00 a.m.). Nagelsmann plans to announce his squad via video message.
