Due to the cryptocurrency scandal: Justice is asked to examine Javier Milei's cell phone

Prosecutor Eduardo Taiano will have to resolve a request that could further compromise President Javier Milei and his closest circle in the investigation into the alleged international fraud linked to the promotion of the cryptocurrency $Libra. The request aims to seize Milei's cell phone, as well as those of his sister Karina Milei and presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni .

The request was presented by lawyer Gregorio Dalbón as an extension of the complaint he had filed in the court of María Romilda Servini, who delegated the investigation to Taiano. In his writing, Dalbón requested the seizure of the devices "in order to guarantee the preservation of relevant evidence for the clarification" of the case in which the President is accused.

The complaining lawyer also requested that a "comprehensive examination of the communications, applications and digital files" on the phones be carried out to determine whether they contain information relevant to the case. He also justified his request by the "institutional gravity" of the case, demanding that "the correct chain of custody of the seized items" be ensured.

Dalbón insisted on the "need to request the extension of the charge" to Karina Milei, Secretary General of the Presidency, given that in recent days she was pointed out as a possible intermediary in accessing the head of state in exchange for money. In this regard, the lawyer recalled that "conversations with Hayden Davis" were revealed in which he claimed to "control" Javier Milei by paying bribes to Karina Milei.

The complaint argues that it is essential to know the frequency and details of the contacts between the President's sister and Mauricio Novelli, the financial trader identified as a link with the creators of $Libra. "It is necessary to investigate what role Karina Milei played in the scam," Dalbón stressed in his presentation.

Official records show that Novelli visited the Casa Rosada and held meetings with the President and other high-ranking officials. In addition, his presence at the Quinta de Olivos was confirmed, which reinforces suspicions about his level of access to the presidential circle.
