Opposition 'playing spoilsport': Considers skipping the swearing-in of the Judiciary

Opposition 'playing spoilsport': Considers skipping the swearing-in of the Judiciary

The opposition The Senate will analyze whether or not to participate in the swearing-in of the new members of the Judiciary , reported the parliamentary coordinator of the PAN, Ricardo Anaya .

The PAN member criticized the fact that the Senate Plenary is currently undergoing adjustments, since " they are preparing their party to crown this fraudulent process , which began with the selection of unconditional supporters who leaked their own, so that with accordions they could place them in the Judicial Branch ."

"We reiterate that the so-called judicial reform and the judicial election were a fraud from start to finish," Anaya added.

This is how the 2025 Judicial Branch swearing-in ceremony will take place.

Regarding the ceremony, Ignacio Mier , deputy coordinator of Morena, announced that the senators will remain in their seats, and the judges will be seated in the galleries ; however, their guests will be sent to a hotel.

"It has been arranged that there will be an alternate location for the relatives at the adjacent hotel, so that only the judges can be sworn in, but their relatives will have the opportunity, because there is always an interest," he said.

In the case of ministers and electoral magistrates , and of the Disciplinary Tribunal , it is expected that a place in the Plenary Session will be assigned to their guests.

"In the case of magistrates and judges, it's very complicated because of the number. Yes, there are more than 800. And in the case of those who will serve on the Superior Chamber of the Federal Electoral Tribunal , the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation , and the Federal Judicial Disciplinary Council, they will have the opportunity," he explained.

When, where and at what time will the PJ swearing-in take place?

The swearing-in protests will begin at 8:00 p.m. and are scheduled to end at 2:00 a.m. on September 2.

Although the plenary hall is still being adjusted, Gerardo Fernández Noroña , president of the Senate, assured that everything is ready.

"That's why we're meeting today in the former Senate and will continue to do so for the remaining two or three weeks. I don't know how many Permanent Commission sessions there are left before September 1," he said in an interview prior to the establishment of the Friendship Group with Palestine.

When asked about Hugo Aguilar , the future president of the Court, stating that he will not be pressured by any political group , he said that there will be division and collaboration.
