The controversial figures who are straining the internal libertarian struggle in the province of Buenos Aires

The controversial figures who are straining the internal libertarian struggle in the province of Buenos Aires

There's an agreement between La Libertad Avanza and Pro for the province of Buenos Aires, but is there an agreement within La Libertad Avanza for the province of Buenos Aires? In that district, the internal conflict is more bitter within the ruling party than between it and its allies for the October lists.

It so happens that, reflecting what seems to be emerging in other provinces, the Forces of Heaven are making public their criticism of the figures who have become key figures in various municipalities and electoral sections. Santiago Caputo 's virtual army is attacking the main interlocutor—at least for now—in PBA: Sebastián Pareja , protected by Karina Milei and the Menems.

Pareja's approach to territorial agreements was already in focus in 2023, when he took charge of the same district under Carlos Kikuchi . The national leader at the time was removed from his role after the presidential election. As LA NACION revealed at the time , the lists featured former Peronist candidates, people linked to obscure figures in the suburbs, and a number of Massa supporters.

How much of this was coincidence or causality was revealed in an audio recording obtained by this media outlet. Pareja sent it to a consortium manager in the municipality of Tigre, on the eve of the closing of the lists. "Talk to... Malena [Galmarini] 's only request here is for [Juan] Cervetto to be elected as first or second councilor. That's what we have to resolve. Once that's resolved, everything's resolved," she warned him. Cervetto continues to participate in LLA. The opposition within the party is being led by Nicolás Scioli, who arrived on Massa's turf.

With Kikuchi's dismissal, after being accused of spurious deals, many figures who embraced the concept of "tabula rasa" didn't disappear, but only from a sector of La Libertad Avanza. An example: Ramón "El Nene" Vera and his daughter, Andrea. The former Frente de Todos candidate in Moreno, now wearing a purple dress, attended Manuel Adorni's bunker in Buenos Aires that Sunday and celebrated the victory with a message on X. In his triumphant speech, the presidential spokesman spoke of a tabula rasa.

On the other side, online, Twitter users let him know that this didn't apply to him. "Shut the fuck up, you fucking infiltrator. Criminal, we're going to kick you out too," spit out @ElTrumpista. "Start it, if you want to," Vera responded. "Fucking infiltrator. We're going to kick you out. Fucking Kuka," added @TalibanMilei. "Check out some event or gathering if they're up to it," the candidate retorted.

Vera isn't the only one under fire, although the attacks didn't spread much beyond him. Regardless of the confrontation, figures with questionable pasts are appearing in various districts, raising questions about whether they genuinely support liberalism, due to legal issues or how "presentable" they are.

Caputo's parallel coalition, led by Agustín Romo, Lucas Sagaz Luna, Santiago Santurio, and Nahuel Sotelo, among others, has a distinct profile: "pure" and largely young. On the other hand, they are accused of an unpopular coalition and a lack of understanding of the "territoriality" of the suburbs. Theirs is no different in form from any other party established in the province, to the point that there were lines of people demanding payment for having traveled on four buses from PBA to the closing campaign event in CABA.

The discord stemmed from Andrea Vera, who ran for mayor of Moreno in 2023 and is now the coordinator of the first electoral section. Her father was a long-time local leader, linked to Jorge D'Onofrio (now under investigation by the courts) of the Frente Renovador (Renewal Front). He was "expelled" from the party when he was not allowed to compete in an internal election, although he was a school counselor for the Frente de Todos (Frente de Todos).

Some are questioned for their profile. For example, Silvina Soria, a leader from Avellaneda, frequently flatters that municipality's organizer, Cristian Frattini, a former mayoral candidate for Consenso Federal ( Roberto Lavagna ) in Avellaneda, who is close to Margarita Stolbizer. Soria, for example, promotes LLA on social media with messages like: "I'm a libertarian. Showing my body doesn't inhibit me from being a politician, I support this government and I'm against all corruption. Long live freedom, damn it, today and always," along with photos of her pool.

For others, doubts arise from internal issues. The recent incorporation of bullrichismo into the libertarian space has reawakened old tensions and caused fractures in the City Council. Former Bahía Blanca mayoral candidate Oscar Liberman , clashing with the ousted council president Marité Gonard , led to an incident that raised alarm among local armed groups.

The tension escalated to the President in the Junín case. There, a complaint was filed by an activist named Marina Biagetti against the coordinator in Junín and of the fourth electoral section, Alberto Pascual , for allegedly expelling her from the space for being part of Las Fuerzas del Cielo (The Forces of Heaven). She provided screenshots that lend credibility to her story. Pascual also handled the PAMI fund in the town.

Shortly after, complaints began to emerge across the country regarding LLA representatives, who were also in charge of delegations for pensioners' social security or Anses (National Social Security Administration), demanding tithes from salaries to fund politics.

In José C. Paz, former mayoral candidate Oscar Abadie , a businessman who manages the fairs controlled in that district by Fabián Carballo , remains in the running. This businessman has a long-standing friendship with Massa and was his candidate for mayor in the municipality in 2015. He has assisted him with favors such as lending him two helicopters for campaigning, through his company, Fusion Blue.
